Bio

Carola Cappellari is a documentary photographer and facilitator whose work is rooted in autobiographical experiences, drawing inspiration from her life and of those close to her to explore wider themes of identity, family, belonging, and migration. She views photography as a tool for co-creation, engaging in performances, installations, and collaborative practices.

In 2019 she graduates in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication and in 2022 in Human Rights and Migration from the University of Bologna.

In 2023, she earns a scholarship to attend the Jack London Photography and Writing School in Italy and is selected for the Canon Student Development Programme with the project “Sons of the Sun”. In 2024 she is selected for the historical one-year “Bevilacqua La Masa” residency with Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia.

Carola frequently partners with international NGOs and social enterprises to deliver participatory photography workshops that promote cross-cultural understanding, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
