Bio

Carola Cappellari is a documentary photographer whose work is rooted in personal experiences, drawing inspiration from her life and the lives of those close to her to explore wider themes of identity, mental health, belonging, and migration. She views photography as a tool for co-creation, engaging in performances, installations, and participatory practices that bring collaboration with her subjects.

In 2023, Carola was among the 30 finalists in the Canon Student Development Programme and earned a scholarship to attend the Jack London Photography School in Italy, where she studied under notable mentors like Marco Longari, Renata Ferri, and Franco Pagetti. She graduated in Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication in 2019, where she began developing her approach to collaborative photography.

With a background in Education and a Master in Human rights and Intercultural Inclusion, Carola frequently partners with NGOs and social enterprises to deliver participatory photography workshops that promote cross-cultural understanding, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
