Bio

Carola Cappellari is a photographer and educator currently based between Italy and Turkey.

First drawn into photography in the form of self-portraiture, she usually departs from autobiographical themes to explore broader notions of identity, belonging and migration. She is interested in the use of photography as a mode of co-creation, whether through performance, installation or participatory practices.

With a background in education, in the past year she has organised photography and storytelling workshops in collaboration with NGOs based in Southeastern Turkey, involving women and children from refugee communities.
